The Grapes of Wrath

The Company

Role: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

John Steinbeck’s classic novel was adapted by Frank Galati for Steppenwolf Theatre Company in 1988. It tells the epic tale of the Joad family’s exodus from the dust bowl of Oklahoma during the Great Depression to the rich, ripe orchards and vineyards of California. Complete with a motorised truck, a Dixie band, a river and a torrent of rain, this production carves its way across the North American landscape and into the social and political heart of the USA.
