Andrew Davidson


Andrew Davidson is an Australian theatre director and musician based in London. He studied directing at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (Sydney) and music at Longy School of Music (Boston, USA).

Directing highlights include operas and musicals: Handel’s Xerxes (London), Mozart’s The Magic Flute (Adelaide), and Sondheim’s Into the Woods (Singapore). He has directed plays by April de Angelis, Caryl Churchill, Tony Kushner, Mark Ravenhill, and Tennessee Williams.

Andrew is a pianist and composer with credits for theatre and dance. He has collaborated on soundtracks for Central School of Ballet (London), Shakespeare Globe Centre (Sydney), and has written music for plays by Australian comedian, Rebel Wilson.

Andrew is a Teaching Fellow in Acting & Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting (GSA), and an Associate Lecturer at Drama Centre London. As a Dalcroze music education specialist, he has been a guest teacher at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Trinity Laban.
